The Reason Why

Manhood is something that modern society has lost. Kids think they are a man because they are a certain age, or because they have some level of achievement, or because they have sex. The sad truth none of these, will ever turn a boy into a man.
Finding one reason why manhood has been perverted in our modern world is like trying to blame the economic crash on one person. There is no one problem to point the finger at. The most pressing reason would be the fatherless homes that fill our country. But that alone cannot take the blame for the absents of men in our culture. The media also portrays a screwed view of manhood. They turn bad guys in to the hero. The music industry turns loud mouth boys into icons and then turns them into examples of manhood. The more outrageous a boy is the more the MTV tries to turn him into “the man”.
In this entire where are the real men? Where are the men that will rise up and say, “Enough is enough!”? What happened to men that do what is right because it is right? Where are the actors, musicians, and icons that show true manhood? The men stay silent, and there silence had crippled a generation.
Several months ago, I was visiting family. My nephew made a joke about being more of a man than me. It was nothing out of the way for him to make such a joke. I and he are usually vocally violent with one another. But this comment struck me in an odd way. I asked him, “What does that mean?” I was not surprised that he had no idea. My only relief was that he did not ask me what it means to be a man. That night I prayed to God and asked Him what it means to be a man.
About a month later, my friends and I were helping a lady from church move. In the conversation we started talking about what it means to be a man. Then out of my mouth came to answer to my prayer. I said, “A man does what is right because it is right, a grown boy does what is convenient.” I was so floored by what I said; I quickly dropped out of the conversation and meditated that. I knew that this had to be in the bible. I went digging in the Word of God for this principal.
What I found astounding. I thought I would have a quick simple easy blog. No What I found will be a blog series worthy of having its own blog page. This blog does come with a warning. If you think you are the man, do not read this, it might hurt your feelings. If you do not want to change and become a better person do not read this.
But if you want to stand up and make a difference in society, and bring “The Man” back into homes across our country. If you want to step out of the stain glass fortress and reach a hurting scared generation, change the course of history, and make a lasting impact then read this blog and stand with me! Together we can bring “The Man” back into our lives, homes, and country!
Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man! John 19:5
